Kids ministry

Our kids ministry is an essential part of our community, as it serves to instruct our children about God and His Word, while also teaching them how to live out their faith in the world around them. Through our kids ministry, we seek to teach about Jesus and His Word, equipping children to live out what they learn by loving God and others. We use a variety of methods to engage children, including creative Bible teaching, age-appropriate lessons and activities, and interactive games and discussions. Our kids ministry team is dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow in their faith and develop a personal relationship with Jesus. We also recognize the importance of partnering with parents to reinforce what children learn in church and help them apply biblical principles to their everyday lives. Ultimately, our goal is to see children become disciples of Jesus, who love and serve Him wholeheartedly and make a difference in their communities.
Children’s message
Our church's Children's Message is a great opportunity for our youngest members to engage with God's Word and learn important biblical truths in a fun and interactive way. During the 9:30am service on Sundays, we offer a short Bible-based lesson tailored to children's needs and interests, delivered in a way that captures their attention and imagination. We believe that it's never too early to start teaching children about the love of God and His plan for their lives, and the Children's Message is a great way to lay a strong foundation of faith in their hearts. We encourage parents to bring their children to this special time of learning and growth, and we look forward to seeing the fruit of our labor as children grow in their understanding of God's Word and His love for them.
Sunday school
We believe in investing in the spiritual growth and development of all our members, including our grade school, middle, and high school students. That's why we offer Sunday School classes designed specifically for these age groups, where they can learn more about God's Word and develop a deeper understanding of their faith. Our Sunday School teachers are passionate about working with young people and helping them navigate the challenges they face in today's world. They use a variety of teaching methods, including group discussions, Bible studies, and creative activities, to engage students and make learning fun and meaningful. Our Sunday School classes provide a safe and supportive environment where students can grow in their relationship with God and with each other. We encourage parents to take advantage of this valuable opportunity for their children and invite them to join us as we seek to raise up the next generation of strong and committed followers of Jesus.
Vacation Bible School
Every summer, Newkirk Reformed Church transforms into a place of adventure, learning, and faith through Vacation Bible School (VBS). VBS is a fun-filled week designed for children to discover God's love through engaging Bible lessons, worship music, games, crafts, snacks, and hands-on activities. VBS has been a cherished tradition in churches for generations, helping children grow in their understanding of God's Word while building friendships and lasting memories.
At Newkirk Reformed Church, we believe faith is best learned through both teaching and experience. Throughout the week, kids explore Bible truths in age-appropriate ways that help them understand who God is, how much He loves them, and how they can follow Jesus in their everyday lives. Our dedicated volunteers create a safe, welcoming environment where every child is valued, encouraged, and loved. This reflects our commitment to helping children grow in their faith and develop a personal relationship with Jesus.
Whether your family regularly attends church or this is your first time visiting, VBS is a wonderful opportunity for your child to make new friends, have fun, and experience the hope found in Jesus Christ. We would love to have your family join us for this exciting week each summer! Contact newkirkreformedchurchvbs@gmail.com for more information.
